The role involves performing database and system administrative tasks, including installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
The consultant will develop software using object-oriented programming to build RESTful services and support SQL/No SQL persistence layers.
Collaboration with systems engineers and developers to design and translate requirements into a web-based architecture is essential.
The candidate will work independently and in an Agile team, analyzing complex system requirements and integrating new technologies.
Required skills include SQL database development, particularly with Sybase ASE, IQ, and Replication Server, as well as SAP HANA, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
The role requires enhancing existing SQL scripts, improving performance, and maintaining multi-user computer systems.
Experience in web development, Agile environments, and UNIX Shell scripting is necessary.
The candidate should have strong documentation skills and the ability to manage system resources efficiently.
Preferred qualifications include over six years of Sybase development experience, familiarity with enterprise software, cloud applications, Big Data technologies, and ETL tools.
Experience with code delivery mechanisms, repositories, and CI/CD is beneficial.
Proficiency in Python or Java and effective communication skills are also desired.
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields is required, with SAP and professional certifications preferred.
The position is based in Herndon, VA, with 0-50% travel.
The compensation range is $107,300 to $230,600, depending on various factors.
